cPanel Case 52484 - Apache vulnerable

cPanel recommends re-compiling Apache to avoid a DDOS vulnerability.
All WHM/cPanel users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version (2.2.20) as soon as possible. There is an attack vector in older builds that allows remote users to cause a denial of service with minimal requests against unprotected machines.
Even if Easy Apache shows you as running version 2.2, if you have not re-compiled since Sept 4, you should do so. The latest minor version, 2.2.20, does not show when running EasyApache. Only the major version is shown.
If you have managed service and need help re-compiling or do not understand this email, log a support ticket and someone can help you walk through re-compiling your server. If you do not have managed service, log a support ticket asking for help and purchase one hour of hands on support and a tech can upgrade for you.

Join the cloud revolution! Cloud servers are less expensive and more flexible than a clunky box or rack!
Serversphere is now proud to offer Cloud Servers. These are virtual servers that live on a grid of computers. You can easily scale them up or down by adding and removing CPU cores. Add RAM as needed, or storage space.
Has your site exploded in popularity because of a television spot? The Digg/Reddit/Slashdot effect? Scale your server up for the month by adding CPU and bandwidth. When things die down, scale the site back down. Totally flexible!
Cloud Servers are secure and redundant. They self-heal! If the grid sees your server is having problems it will move it to a new part of the grid automatically. The SAN storage space grid means redundant storage of your data to help insure you don't lose anything.
Try out a Cloud Server today! Inexpensive, secure and flexible. Server solutions really have come full circle.

* Domain Name Service: Full domain name service, including transfers and free protected registration.
* Quick servers: SaaS solutions just a click away. Deploy a WordPress or Wiki server in minutes by filling out a form and clicking build.
And more! The coming year should be very exciting. Stay tuned for more information.
